Valley Vets are excited to be recruiting for a Vet with a passion for medicine and imaging to join our amazing team at our RCVS accredited hospital at Gwaelod y Garth.

You’ll get to work with our progressive, enthusiastic and highly committed team providing a seamless 24/7 service to our valued clients in a friendly and supportive environment. Our 24/7 ECC service means that we see a wide variety of interesting cases, and the facilities available allow us to work many of these up in-house rather than having to refer externally.

We are proud to have outstanding facilities and equipment and always strive to progress, improve and learn from one another.

 About you:

We’re looking for a confident, experienced Vet, with a passion for supporting colleagues’ development. A team player with great communication skills you will be keen to share your knowledge and expertise, able to demonstrate when required or simply observe and offer guidance.

Ideally a certificate holder (maybe even an Advanced Practitioner?), you’ll be confident in working up and managing complex medical cases, and skilled at scanning and endoscopy.

Most importantly we’re looking for a great fit for the team and for us to be a great fit for you, in a role where you will thrive and achieve your full potential.

 The Role:

  • Salary – up to £70,000 per annum – dependent on experience
  • Full-time (part-time considered)
  • Work pattern – a 4 day week with one 9 hour weekend shift (Sat OR Sun) every 5 weeks, and one bank holiday shift a year – giving a great work life balance
  • Hours – 38.1/wk (includes the weekend + BH shifts)
  • No on-call – we have a dedicated night service
  • Certificate study/clinical development fully supported

 About us:

Valley Veterinary Hospital is a multi-disciplinary site that actively encourages collaboration between our first opinion and ECC teams. We pride ourselves in investing both in our team and our equipment and facilities, providing an excellent platform for our team to be able to work cases up fully and pursue their personal clinical interests.

  • 24/7 inpatient care
  • CT Scanner
  • Advanced Ultrasonography
  • Endosurgery facilities
  • Extensive blood analysis equipment- including TEG, blood gases etc
  • Dedicated orthopaedic, soft tissue and exotic theatres
  • Dedicated ECC wards
  • Dental suite
  • In-house Hydrotherapy service
  • In-house Physiotherapy service

Valley Vets culture is one that values not only our patients and clients but our team as well. We truly believe that by looking after our teams, the highest levels of patient and client care will naturally follow. We strive to provide an environment that actively encourages people to develop, embarking on further study, if desired, and progress in their chosen career pathways. We have numerous projects aimed at supporting team wellbeing and have the team actively involved in how the practice can progress.
