Hospital Emergency & Critical Care DAY/TWILIGHT Roles
Valley Vets are looking for an exceptional vet to complete our amazing ECC team.
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team to continue to expand our current ECC care and provide a seamless 24/7 service for local practices.
The Role
The role is an ECC role– working on a rolling rota of 4 days on, 4 days off, allowing you to really maximise a satisfying clinical role with a great quality of life. Based within our hospital, you would have access to a varied and interesting caseload with the support of our team of ECC and first opinion vets. We provide out of hours provision for around 40 local practices covering beyond the Cardiff area, meaning that we see a very wide and varied caseload of both medical and surgical cases.

- Great work life balance- 4 days on, 4 days off (comprising 4 day shifts, 4 days off, 4 twilight shifts, 4 days off, etc.
- Dedicated ECC vet teams means NO SOLE CHARGE
- Fully supported by large teams of RVNs, ACAs and Reception
- No long night shifts- our permanent night vets cover these!
- No on-call.
- Certificate study/clinical development fully supported

The Local Area
Valley Vets is lucky to be situated in an extremely diverse area. South Wales and in particular, Cardiff and its surroundings, really are something very special. Within easy commuting distance of all of our practices, you can be living in the vibrant city centre of Cardiff, surround yourself with nature and tranquillity in the coastal towns of the Vale of Glamorgan, or the mountains of the Valleys and Brecon Beacons National Park. The area really does have something for everyone. Key Details
- Average 35.1hr week.
- Salary £60,000 – £70,000 dependant on experience
- Minimum 6.6 weeks holiday inclusive of Bank holidays – options to buy and sell
- Sick pay of 2 weeks full pay and 4 weeks half pay
- 5 days CPD, with a budget of £1750
- VDS and RCVS fees paid
