VETPARTNERS colleagues in the UK have selected Vetlife as their chosen charity for 2026.
Colleagues were given the opportunity to vote which charity they wanted to support through fundraising activities throughout the year – and VetPartners will match any money raised through its charity fund.
Vetlife, an independent charity that provides free and confidential support to anyone in the UK veterinary community who has emotional, health or financial problems, has already benefited from the generosity of VetPartners colleagues.
Ever since the group was established in 2015, VetPartners, which is led by vets, has raised money for Vetlife and highlighted its incredible work within the veterinary community to team members through its mental health and wellbeing resources. Selecting Vetlife as its charity of the year will bring an increased focus on raising vital funds.
Vetlife is always there for the veterinary community
In 2025, VetPartners raised £35,219 for the charity which has a 24-hour helpline offering emotional and practical support to everyone in the veterinary community. For every person who filled in their colleague engagement survey, VetPartners donated £1 to Vetlife, and money was also raised through the group’s annual Month of Movement which encourages team members to become active during May.
Colleagues from Viking Vets, main picture, took part in the 2025 Bristol 10K to raise money for Vetlife.
VetPartners Group Head of ESG Hannah James, who oversees the group’s charitable activities, said: “We understand that working in the veterinary profession is incredibly rewarding but it can also be a really tough job emotionally, and our colleagues face challenging situations almost every day. Vetlife does so much to support the veterinary community, so we are looking forward to raising as much money as possible to help the great work they do.”
Vetlife President James Russell said: “We are hugely grateful that VetPartners have chosen to make us their charity of the year in 2026. As well as the valuable contribution to our funds that I know will be made, I hope that it will raise awareness of our services to all at VetPartners and help to reduce any perceived barriers to contacting Vetlife Helpline which we know can exist.”
Some 138 charities and worthy causes that help people, animals and the environment benefited from the kindness of VetPartners colleagues in 2025 after they joined together to raise £376,453 during the year.
Whether running marathons, climbing mountains or baking cakes to sell, colleagues raised £214,300 during 2025 and VetPartners donated £162,153 through its charity fund.
The amount raised was the highest ever total raised in a year by VetPartners and it saw the group top the £1million mark for the 10 years it has been established.
The grand total included £23,268 for the UK chosen charity of 2025, Air Ambulances UK, the national charity that supports the UK’s 21 regional air ambulance charities, helping them save even more lives every day.
