Are you a highly motivated team player wanting to work in an environment which is constantly evolving and striving for excellence?

Following a major redevelopment of our well-established Practice, Wood Veterinary Group are looking to expand their clinical team and are seeking a motivated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our progressive, well-equipped, practice.

About us:

We are located in Gloucestershire which is centrally placed with excellent transport links and sits right on the edge of the Cotswolds with outstanding natural countryside and amenities right on the doorstep.

We are looking for an RVN to join our team of driven and motivated individuals, including many with post qualification certificates.

We currently have 21 Day RVNs, 2 SVNs, 6 Night Nurses and 6 kennel assistants working at our busy RCVS PSS accredited Animal Hospital in Gloucester.

Our nurses enjoy a great work/life balance as well as a varied caseload where schedule 3 is actively encouraged and additional training/qualifications are supported.

From an interpersonal team perspective we hold regular events, including a summer social and Christmas party plus planned and ad hoc events in between. For the last 3 years we have had the pleasure of engaging a visiting pancake chef on Shrove Tuesday, we enjoy informal sweets and treats and have engaged in golf driving range excursions, bowling and darts; there really is something for everyone!

About you:

Applicants should be conscientious, hardworking, have a passion for providing gold standard veterinary care and be confident in all aspects of our nursing rota. As an approved training practice, being a Clinical coach would be advantageous, but not imperative. Additionally, training can be provided if you would like to support our student nurses.  We are ideally seeking someone with a strong interest in anaesthesia/ surgery but would be happy to discuss other interests.

The Role:

Full-time or part-time, we are open to discussion.

Rota shift timings vary with a mix of earlier and later shifts. We also work some weekend shifts (currently 1 in 7) with time off in lieu given after a weekend.

We have our own dedicated night team so there are no OOH shifts although there is the opportunity the provide holiday cover if you wish.

Our fantastic range of benefits include (pro-rata):

  • Competitive salary – £25,000 – £32,000 DOE
  • £600 CPD budget & paid CPD days – further qualifications supported and encouraged, including certificates
  • RCVS /VDS/BVNA membership fully funded
  • Generous Team Discount on Veterinary Fees, pet care and Pet Health Plan
  • Contributory pension scheme
  • Health Shield – wide ranging contributions for health and wellbeing treatments, from dentistry to sports massage
  • Enhanced paternity, maternity, adoption, shared parental leave, and surrogacy pay
  • Generous team discounts for companion animals
  • My Perks – offers, discounts and cashback on shopping, travel, entertainment and much more
  • Cycle to Work scheme
  • Company sick pay
  • Annual salary reviews
  • Focus on employee wellbeing

We are proud to be part of the Vet Partners Family which gives access to Special Interest Groups, shared learning platforms and networking opportunities.

Whether you are strongly tempted or just merely curious we would be happy to show you around. Please contact our Head RVN, Hannah Jones, on 01452 543990 or via [email protected]
