UK and Ireland Managing Director – Jonathan Power
I began my career with Nestlé, where I held various roles within accountancy, IT and project management. I later worked for global brands such as Iron Mountain and Wolverine Worldwide, before moving into the healthcare and pharmacy sector. I also co-founded and was CEO of Avicenna Pharmacy, one of the biggest pharmacy chains in the UK.
As UK managing director, I ensure that there is adequate focus and support for our practices and businesses, while upholding our culture and ensuring that everyone’s views and voices continue to be heard.
When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my wife and our three children, as well as our cats and chickens. I am also a keen fell runner and have a passion for cycling, climbing and caving.
UK Operations Director (Practices) – Paul Teasdale
As the Operations Director for VetPartners UK, I’m dedicated to driving operational excellence within our veterinary practices.
With a strong background in various operational roles within the veterinary industry and having been with VetPartners since 2018, I’m committed to ensuring the smooth running of our UK practices while upholding our company’s core values of collaboration, respect, dedication, support, and approachability.
Farm Director – Ian Cure
As farm director, I support our farm practices in delivering a high quality, sustainable service to their patients and clients.
I regularly sit down with farmers and discuss the health, welfare and productivity data that provide us with insights into the overall efficiency of their farming enterprise.
My role is making sure that investment made by farmers results in them having more saleable products for the same overheads, therefore making their business more profitable and environmentally sustainable.
Equine Director – Julian Rishworth
I graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 1993, and joined Minster Veterinary Practice two years later. I worked as an equine vet with an interest in stud work, dentistry and surgery, and ran their equine laboratory. For over 20 years, I have also been (and still am) the equine vet at the Great Yorkshire Show.
I joined VetPartners in 2018, and am proud to have helped develop an excellent group of quality equine practices, including some of the best equine hospitals in the UK. Our people make our group what it is, and we work collaboratively to provide quality clinical care and constantly try to improve all the time.
When I’m not working, I can usually be found on a bicycle, more frequently a road bike but occasionally a mountain bike. During the winter months, snowboarding predominates!
UK People Director – Chey Machin
Before joining VetPartners in 2020, I held various operations and HR roles in other sectors.
The values of the businesses I work for are always very important to me, as our fundamental core beliefs guide our behaviour and goals, help us measure success and inform the way we interact with one another.
It’s refreshing to get to work with our amazing people, who are approachable, accessible, and listen to and understand the opinions of our colleagues, which helps us evolve our business.
As part of the people team, I work with practices, our central support team and other business across our group. Outside of work, my dog, Floki, keeps me entertained and active.
Finance Director UK & Ireland – Tara Wild
I qualified as a chartered accountant in 2002, after which I worked for a variety of businesses across the North East.
I joined VetPartners in 2016 as a regional financial controller, before going on to create and lead the financial integration team and taking on the role of finance controller for the practice finance teams.
In 2023, I progressed to head of management reporting and control, and I now oversee practice reporting for the UK and Ireland.
Much of my free time is spent with my family and pets, pottering around my garden and trying to get back to the gym!
Head of UK Marketing – Anita Mauriello
My long and varied marketing career has seen me work across industry sectors such as retail, wholesale, and hospitality, as well as an interesting stint in the NHS. I spent a number of years with Boots, Sainsbury’s and The Co-op, and most recently led the marketing agenda for Unitas Wholesale, the UK’s largest independent wholesale buying group.
I lead the UK and Ireland marketing team in delivering great marketing activity that engages clients, and support practice teams to grow and develop. Ultimately, it is the satisfaction of working with the marketing team and wider business colleagues to achieve the best outcomes we can from well considered marketing activity that motivates and excites me. In my free time, you can find me walking my dog on the hills of the Derbyshire Peak or spending time with family and friends, which usually involves good food!
