Valley Vets are excited to be recruiting for a Hospital Vet to join our amazing team at our RCVS accredited hospital on a six-month fixed term contract to cover for one of our lovely vets who is taking a sabbatical. Ideally the start date will be the end of April for the successful applicant.

About you:
We’re looking for a confident, experienced Vet, with a passion for supporting colleagues’ development. A team player with great communication skills you will be keen to share your knowledge and expertise, able to demonstrate when required or simply observe and offer guidance.
The role will involve a mixture of hospital days, with responsibility for inpatient care, and ops days. There will be the need to pick up some emergency consultations, and on rare occasions assist the first opinion team with their workload, but no full consultation days. Confidence in surgeries including splenectomies, amputations, lap spays, etc would be beneficial, as would experience with managing complex medical cases.

The Role:
- Salary – pro-rata up to £70,000 per annum
- Full-time (part-time considered)
- Work pattern – a 4 day week, 8:45-18:45 (occasionally 8am-6pm)
- Hours – 36hrs/wk
- No on-call – we have a dedicated night service, and no weekend work
