Looking for a change?  Talk to us!

Here at Maes Glas we’re looking for an experienced Small Animal Vet to join our fabulous team, who is a great fit for us, but we want to be a great fit for you too.

The Role:

  • Salary40-60k.
  • Full-time
  • FTC to cover maternity leave – up to 12 months
  • Manage and oversee the day-to day clinical case load, alongside our team of superstars, at one of our branches. There is also the option to include some work at our hospital (awarded RCVS outstanding status) if interested.
  • We can be accommodating as to where you would rather work

This could be the role for you if you:

  • Thrive in and enjoy contributing to a positive, supportive and successful team
  • Are passionate about delivering outstanding care
  • Are proactive – following your cases through from consultation to diagnosis and treatment, where appropriate

About us:

We are a friendly and supportive team of incredible people, working out of purpose-built premises. Our main hospital in Bridgend and 4 other branches across South Wales are RCVS accredited and have Silver Cat Friendly status and of course have all the mod-cons you would expect.

The usual T’s and C’s tick the boxes but are you looking for more?

What makes Maes Glas a great place to be?

The practice is headed by 5 young Clinical Directors, who can be found “on the front line” working alongside you.  We pride ourselves on being friendly and approachable and every member of our team is valued – we welcome everyone’s ideas and contributions.

We’re a practice that imposes no commercial targets on any of our employees….so you can concentrate on what’s most important – continuing our delivery of excellent clinical care.

All we ask of our team is that they come to work and leave each day knowing that they have done their absolute best.

We welcome diversity and our team are from all walks of life – surfers, hikers, footballers, rugby players, ice hockey supporters, kayakers, dungeons and dragons players, coffee shop connoisseurs and many more!

We are flexible with working arrangements wherever possible:

We are proud of our in-house OOH service with the majority of our Vets taking part in either the first-on-call night rota or the second-on-call back up rota. However, we do understand that many of us have commitments and OOH work may not be suitable.

We endeavour to be as flexible as possible – in summary we will tailor a role to suit the right individual.

The Area:

We are blessed to be situated in an area where you have the option of being able to head to the bright lights of Cardiff to the East, and Swansea to the West, the rugged Brecon Beacons to the North, and the award-winning beaches to the South. The area offers an abundance of things for you to do in your downtime away from work.

Benefits include:

  • 28 days (6.6 weeks) holiday per year, which is inclusive of Bank Holidays
  • 2 weeks full sick pay and 2 weeks half sick pay
  • Royal College fees, and another professional subscription of your choice paid for
  • Health Shield membership

And more!

If all this sounds a great fit we’d love to hear from you.

Feel free to get in touch for an informal chat or come and have a cuppa and spend some time with us – get a real feel for who we are before applying or coming to an interview.  Happy to answer all your questions….
